With miles of coastline, Mississippi is not lacking when it comes to beaches. However, the Gulf Coast isn’t the only place you’ll find beaches in the Magnolia State. In fact, there’s a lakeside beach that actually rivals the coast. Take a look:
This is Grenada Lake. At nearly 36,000 acres, it’s the largest body of water lying completely within the state.

It’s also one of the state’s best places for water-related fun - from boating and fishing to swimming and water skiing.

And with 148 miles of shoreline, it’s also a great spot for just relaxing on the beach.

Surrounded by deep forests and rolling hills, the lakeside beach is the perfect summertime escape.

The somewhat secluded locale also means crowds aren’t the norm, so you could possibly have the beach all to yourself.

There are 25 recreation areas surrounding Grenada Lake, so accessing it is a breeze.

One of the most popular recreation areas is Hugh White State Park. In addition to access to Grenada Lake, the park features a campground, so you can turn your beach day into an in-state vacay.
