Grand Isle Has Some Of The Best Beaches In Louisiana

Louisiana may not be known for its beaches, but there are a few hidden beaches peppered throughout the state that are worth checking out. This particular beach rather remote – located all the way down at the tip of the boot – but it’s one of the most magnificent in Louisiana, so gas up the car and take a road trip this summer. Today, we are headed down to Grand Isle to explore its beautiful beaches.

Grand Isle is a narrow barrier island located on the Gulf of Mexico. It also happens to be Louisiana’s only inhabited barrier island, with a population of about 1,500 people.

Grand Isle is a fisherman’s paradise. Anglers from all over the world flock to this little town every July for the annual Tarpon Rodeo; the oldest fishing tournament in the country.

While Grand Isle may be known for its fishing opportunities, there’s another hidden gem that many Louisianians have never explored: the beaches.

Grand Isle has seven miles of public beaches that are perfect for spending a day relaxing with your toes in the sand.

You can also access the beach through Grand Isle State Park, which also features a 400-foot fishing pier.
