For those who grew up in the area, you might recognize the location as the former Roth Drugstore.

Fremin’s Restaurant/Facebook The building dates back to 1878, when Mr. E.N. Roth, Sr. constructed the original three-story building. The drugstore, which operated on the first floor, was opened in 1910. A doctor’s office occupied the second floor, and the third story served as living quarters. Unfortunately, the third story was destroyed during Hurricane Betsy in 1965.

You’ll still feel a wave of nostalgia wash over you as you enter the restaurant. The exposed brick and the wooden beams add an elegant charm that’s perfect for a celebratory evening.
