Situated on the Ohio River, Eagle’s Bluff Overlook Park in southern Indiana spans 128 acres of Perry County. It is known as the largest facility in the area, though it used to be so little known that those who were familiar with it simply called it “The Overlook.”

This breathtaking overlook sits 200 feet above the river and gives guests incredible views of the Cannelton Locks and Dam. It was built during the construction of the dam in order to give workers an aerial view of its progress.

Opening to the public in 2008, the park features three walking trails, two covered shelters with picnic tables and charcoal grills, and a visitor’s center with restrooms.

The lock and dam system was completed in 1967. It takes millions of gallons of water to lift each foot. The dam created a 114 mile lake for residents and visitors to enjoy.
