We’ve just kicked off the New Year and expectations are high for 2019. Before the month is over, a rare lunar eclipse will occur and in Connecticut, we have a front row seat to this spectacular occurrence. The event promises to be a sight you won’t want to miss when a Super Blood Wolf Moon presents itself in the sky.
Mark you calendars now for the night of night of January 20-21, 2019 to view this incredible total lunar eclipse. Another one like this won’t show itself until May of 2021.

This eclipse is particularly engaging because it combines the Super Moon, Blood Moon, and Wolf Moon all in one. It will be closer to the Earth making it larger while the moon will take on a reddish glow.

You’ll also have the chance to witness a penumbral series, where the moon is darkened by the cone-shaped shadow of the Earth as it approaches the total eclipse.

The event promises to be astounding as long as the weather cooperates. You don’t need special glasses to view this lunar event. The eclipse of the moon can’t harm your eyes as a solar eclipse can.
