If you happen to be looking for an amusement park that offers a bit more of a thrill, well then you’ll be overwhelmed with joy when you hear about the latest attraction that’s about to open at Darien Lake. Only a quick 40-minute drive from Buffalo, Six Flags Darien Lake has become known as the roller coaster and thrill capital of New York.

With more than 1,000-acres, you’ll find all sorts of rides within this epic amusement park of Genesee County.

Recently opening up for the year, the park has begun to unveil new adrenaline-inducing rides like the Tantrum roller coaster that reaches speeds of more than 50 miles per hour and even has a 97-degree vertical drop. Woah!

But if you’re in search of a new ride that’s also maybe slightly less terrifying, then get a look at Darien Lake’s Skyscreamer.

Set to open up in mid-May, the Skyscreamer will be the tallest amusement ride in all of New York.

Taking you up 24 stories, the Skyscreamer is a spinning swing ride that’s similar to many you’ve probably seen before in other parks.

The only difference is with the Skyscreamer, you’ll be 240-feet above the ground, spinning in the air.

At its widest rotation, the Skyscreamer sends you spinning out in a 98-foot circle. Talk about getting a great view of Western New York!

With each swing seating two people, you’ll be able to grab a friend or family member to sit next to during this unforgettable amusement park adventure.
