Alaska has a festival that has been celebrating Norway since May 17th, 1958.

The Little Norway Festival / Facebook Two local women of Petersburg, Alaska created the festival to celebrate the town’s Norwegian heritage. May 17th is the day that Norway signed their constitution, back in 1814.

Food is an incredibly important part of this festival.
