What’s more beautiful than a field of wildflowers? A field of wildflowers in Kansas, of course. These are all of our favorite places to see wildflowers around our beautiful state once things are nice and warm, and we decided to share them with everyone else. Grab your bucket lists, because we’ve got a few more items for you to add.
- Sandsage Bison Range - Garden City
Joe K/Google This beautiful area dedicated to keeping this herd of bison safe and protected is also a great place for wildflower spotting. There’s a lot of different types of wildflowers that pop up in Sandsage prairie, so keep your eyes peeled!
- Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve - Strong City
turcottes78/Flickr One of the most beautiful places in Kansas is by far the Flint Hills, and this preserve is a good part of it. Wildflowers can be seen throughout almost any part of it, and it’s always exciting to see new ones pop up each year.
- Clinton Lake - Lawrence

- Konza Prairie - Manhattan

- Prairie Center Nature Reserve Trail - Olathe
Jack Sippel/AllTrails This trail in Olathe is a short loop in a beautiful nature reserve that we just can’t get enough of. A short hike out in nature is something we all need sometimes.
- Chisholm Creek Park - Wichita
Bruce Larsen/Google This oasis within the city is a beautiful example of coexisting with wildlife. Between all the animals hiding out and the wildflowers covering all of the sunny spots, it’s the perfect place for a relaxing afternoon.
- Jamestown Marsh Lookout Point - Norway
Luke Mahin/AllTrails Though this is a lookout point, you can also find wildflowers in the area if you’re lucky. They’re not as abundant as they are in drier parts of Kansas but finding them is almost like finding gold.
