The Guinness Book of World Records holds some of the coolest and oftentimes downright weirdest records in the world. With a vast list of the record-breaking facts and achievements around the globe, some of them will have you saying “WOW!” while others may have you saying, “what in the world?” These records held by Atlantans might just having you saying the latter.
The capital city of Georgia is known for some pretty cool things, most recently being the home chosen for the 2019 Super Bowl.

- Most Pancakes Made in 8 Hours by a Team

Flickr Brett Kliger This gargantuan monster featured 3,000 gallons of soda poured in a 15-foot tall glass over 7,200 scoops of ice cream. The float was made by Coca-Cola at the World of Coca-Cola Museum in Atlanta on May 25, 2007.
- Largest Cupid Shuffle Dance

Flickr Andrew Malone This strange-but-true record was comprised of 1,724,000 quarters, which is the equivalent of a 25.9-mile line of change. It was valued at $431,000. This record was captured at the Marriott Marquis on July 25, 1992
- Longest Video Game Marathon on Guitar Hero
Flickr VanessaC (EY) Atlantan Patrick Young secured the record for “Longest Video Game Marathon on Guitar Hero,” which lasted a total of 72 hours and 17 minutes. The best part about this record is that it raised money for the American Heart Association.
- Largest Collection of Toothpaste Tubes
Flickr Holly Clark Alpharetta dentist, Val Kolpakov, holds the title for “Largest Collection of Toothpaste Tubes.” His toothpaste collection includes over 2,000 varieties of toothpastes from around the world.
