Memorial Day weekend tends to kick off camping season here in Washington, and we’re ready for another amazing year of sleeping under the stars. But instead of heading back to your go-to campsite, try setting up camp somewhere new. These seven campgrounds are somewhat off the grid and always beautiful.
- White River Campground, Mt. Rainier National Park

- Hoh Campground, Olympic National Park

Google Marcus Island Campground is hidden in the trees in the heart of the Lake Roosevelt Recreation Area. The campground is heavily shaded, so it makes a perfect summer escape. The main access road is single lane and winding, but it’s worth it.

The Gorge Amphitheater is an amazing place to see a show, but the onsite campground can get crowded quickly. But this tranquil oasis is just two miles down the road, and it’s fantastic. The campground has free hot showers, an onsite chef, and free shuttle service to and from the Gorge.
