Tours aren’t just for schoolchildren or tourists visiting another state. There are plenty right here in our home that are worth experiencing. They showcase the beauty and diversity of Texas from caves to vineyards to ranches and even museums. There are far too many to even attempt listing them all, but we think these 10 are especially worth mentioning.
- Texas Wine Tours (Fredericksburg)

The tours include leisurely, romantic walks through the fields, wine tasting, and even dinner at a rustic restaurant overlooking the scene as the sun sets.

The tour walks you through breathtaking rock formations and stalactites and stalagmites lined with shiny minerals. There really is nothing like it.
- LBJ Ranch (Johnson City)
Flick/dlanger Not only is the ranch beautiful, boasting wildflowers as far as the eye can see and an impressive herd of longhorn; it’s also a history lesson because former President Johnson was born, raised, died, and was buried on its grounds. You’ll learn about the life of one of our most influential presidents and find some peace and quiet in nature at the same time.
- Museum of Natural Science (Houston)
Flickr/mkhatri1 You might think museums are just for school field trips, but they can actually be incredibly interesting. In this museum, you’ll see dinosaurs, butterflies, artifacts from ancient Egypt, and so many more educational yet fun and exciting exhibits.
- The Alamo (San Antonio)
Flickr/nanpalmero And we round out the list with the most famous mission in Texas war history. You can almost see the soldiers fighting to the death for our freedom all around you. It’s a truly humbling experience that makes my heart swell with pride for Texas.
